Guildford Peloton Mini Strava Challenge #2 Week 2

Great weather in the UK over the weekend saw most people out posting some good numbers - total mileage and feet climbed was by far the biggest recorded this year.

Steve’s monopoly on the yellow jersey has finally been broken with a superb effort from Mike, enjoying the weather and hilly terrain of the South of France to post the largest weekly total for climbing this year.

In General Classification, Steve retains the Yellow jersey with Mike now out in front in the Polka Dots.

Respect to Justin who completed his first ever Century ride and earned a Gold in his first sportive. He and I rode the Wiggle Spring Saddle event starting and finishing at Newmarket racecourse in 5hr 43mins for the 100 miles at an average of 18.2 mph - not the most challenging of routes but it was well organised, quiet roads and good conditions- apart from sub-zero temperatures at the start which meant we looked a tad stupid later in the day wearing full bibs, booties, winter gloves, skull caps etc passing girls on mountain bikes wearing shorts riding the short route…

Keep going guys.

Michael C:  I seem to be lagging behind a tad even after 2 weeks!

First run out this weekend with my new-fangled Garmin so I now have lots more useless stats to get confused by. More annoyingly it seems to have knocked of 1.5 miles from my normal Sunday ride compared to the iPhone that I have been using. Talk about rip-off Britain…..

David C:  You need to be quiet or Stato will go back over your previous results and re-calibrate to the Garmin recoded values ….!

Craig S:  A bit miffed that since a wet ride on Saturday (I know you all have a great deal of sympathy, knowing that wet here is generally wet, and not particularly cold...) I haven't been able to get my Garmin to be recognised by my laptop to upload the data.
I did ride both Saturday and Sunday, although Sunday was a short sprint with only 400m or so of climb.
It will get there eventually I'm sure.
